Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Contests at UF

The UF Department of Mathematics sponsors participation in two annual international mathematical modeling contests for teams of undergraduate students.

The Fall Semester contest is theĀ SIMIODE Challenge Using Differential Equations Modeling (SCUDEM) and the Spring Semester contest is the COMAP Mathematical/Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM).

Over the course of 1 weekend or 3 weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to solve a real-world modeling problem!

Mathematical modeling training sessions are held only in the Fall Semester in preparation for both contests. Separate informational meetings about SCUDEM and MCM/ICM are held in the Fall and Spring Semesters, respectfully, a few weeks before the contests begin.
